Moment Makers

Last week I was in Austin, TX at the National Worship Leaders Conference. During the opening event, one of the pastors from Riverbend Church made a comment that we as worship leaders are “Moment Makers”. A pretty interesting statement. The thought that worship leaders create environments where people can experience the presence of God is both powerful and humbling. I have heard it said many times that 50% of the theology that people have in regard to how to engage God is learn from what they experience in weekend worship services. This is why at Christ Fellowship we continually encourage our worship team to be aware that we are doing more than just singing and playing songs. We are creating that moment where the Infinite intersects with the finite, Creator is brought into the focus of the created, where we are changed by the unchangable. It is in those moments when clarity of our role as worship leaders is found. So this weekend when I step on the platform to lead my brothers and sisters in worship, my prayer is that God will use me as a “Moment Maker”
